50's
New look
In the 50s we looked to the future and to better
times. Although materials were often scarce, affluence and joie de
vivre were celebrated with opulence and a variety of colors and
shapes. Plastic and rhinestones were very popular and, because they
were inexpensive and readily-available, democratic luxuries.
